Amul Ice Cream Parlour

Our Amul Ice Cream Parlour is over in Dilsukhnagar on Meerpet Road. It’s a busy area with a lot of people moving around all the time. I took over this place a few years back because I wanted something steady to do. The shop is quite simple with a few display cases and a counter where I spend most of my time. Meerpet Road has a lot of traffic, so there’s always dust, and I have to wipe down the counters and the glass several times a day. It’s a small space, so it gets crowded quickly if more than five people come in at once. Usually, people just grab what they want and eat it outside or take it home. I have a young guy who helps me during the busy evening shift. We have to be quick because customers don’t like to wait when it’s hot outside. The power supply in Dilsukhnagar is mostly okay, but we always worry about the freezers during a storm. I like talking to the regular customers who live in the apartments nearby. They usually come in after dinner for a small treat. We don’t do anything fancy, just sell the ice cream and make sure the change is correct. It’s a basic job but it pays the bills and keeps me busy. Sometimes I sit outside on a plastic chair when it’s slow and just watch the cars go by on Meerpet Road.
