We are situated at Peshawari Plaza, right in the middle of a very busy area. Airon Footgear Pvt. Ltd. takes up a few units here, like ten through thirteen, so we have a bit of room to move around. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the boxes piled up in the corridors. Making shoes and footgear is what we do all day long. The plaza itself is always humming with people coming and going. You can hear the noise from the street all day. We spend a lot of time checking materials and making sure the stitching is right. It’s a lot of hands-on work. Sometimes the shipments arrive late and we have to stay a bit longer to get everything sorted out in the warehouse area. It’s not a glamorous job, but someone has to make sure people have something decent to wear on their feet. The lighting in the building isn't the best, but we make it work for us. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know each other’s habits. We drink a lot of chai during our breaks and talk about the local news. The address can be a bit confusing for delivery drivers because of all the different unit numbers like five, four, and those sixes, but we eventually get our packages. We aren’t trying to be anything we’re not. We just make shoes and try to keep the business running smoothly from our spot in the plaza.
