A1 Men

This shop is located in Old Kattamandi in the Abids area. We are right opposite the BJP office, so it’s a landmark that everyone around here knows. The address is 5-4-700/C. Abids is an old part of the city, and our shop feels like it fits right in. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the way we do things stays pretty much the same. It’s a small room with a few chairs. People come in, wait their turn, and then go about their business. Being near a political office means there is always something going on outside, especially during election times or rallies. It can get pretty loud on the street, but we just keep working. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to A1 Men for years. They don’t even have to say what they want anymore; we just know. It’s that kind of place. We don’t have a website or anything fancy. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a long time and people know where to find us. The shop stays open late most nights because that's when the workers from the nearby markets finally have some free time. It’s a lot of standing and cutting, but we’re used to it. We keep the equipment sharp and the floor clean. It’s a honest way to spend the day in Hyderabad. It works for us.
