If you go down Buruju Galli in Amberpet, you will find us at Shop No 2-2-987. We are right near the Hanuman Temple. You can always hear the bells and the people visiting the temple from our doorway. It is a narrow street and things can get quite crowded with people and scooters passing by. We call the place A 1 Hair Men S Saloon. It’s not very big inside, just enough space for a few chairs and a place for people to wait. We keep a stack of old newspapers for anyone waiting their turn. The lighting is okay, maybe a bit bright, but we need to see what we are doing. Amberpet is a lively area and there is always something going on outside. We see a lot of the same people every week. Some stop in just to say hello even if they don't need a haircut that day. We keep our tools sharp and organized on the little shelves we have. The floor is tile and we try to keep it clean, but in a busy galli like this, a bit of dust always finds its way in. It is just a simple, honest shop. We don’t do anything flashy, just the basic stuff that people need. It feels like a part of the community here because of the temple being so close. We just open up and do our work until it’s time to head home.
