We are Shah Granites Pvt Ltd and we operate out of Asif Nagar in Hyderabad. This part of the city is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. Our work is all about granite, which means we spend a lot of time around big slabs of stone and the machinery used to cut them. It’s not a clean or quiet job, but it’s what we know. The Hyderabad sun can be pretty intense when you're out looking at stock, but we’re used to it by now. We don't have a big polished office with fancy air conditioning. It’s more of a practical yard and a small room for the paperwork. We get people coming in from all over the area looking for specific colors or types of stone for their houses. We just show them what we have in the back. It’s a straightforward way to do business. We don't use any big sales pitches. If the stone looks good and the price is fair, people buy it. That’s how it’s always been for us. There’s a lot of competition in Asif Nagar, so we just focus on our own tasks and try to keep things moving. Sometimes the machines break down or a delivery gets stuck in traffic, but you just have to keep going. It’s a lot of physical labor and staying organized with the orders. We’re just local people doing our best with a tough material.
