Phanikumar and G. Kameswrarao run things here at JR.ARCHITECT in Chinthal. The office is right behind the Pochamma Temple, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us in this part of Hyderabad. It is a huge city, but this corner feels more like a small community where everyone knows each other. We do architecture work, mainly focusing on residential houses and local buildings. There is nothing polished about our workspace. It is filled with old files, pens, and a couple of computers that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time walking around building sites in the sun, making sure the brickwork matches the drawings we made. It’s a lot of back and forth with the workers on the ground. Our days are mostly about solving small problems that pop up when you start building something for real. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. If someone needs a plan for their house, they usually just walk in and talk to us. We have tea from the stall nearby and sit down to look at the site measurements. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is close, but we try to keep it steady. The temple bells are a constant sound in the background of our workday. It is a basic, hardworking office where we just focus on getting the job done for the local people in the neighborhood who need a plan.
