If you head out toward Tandur in Andhra Pradesh, you’ll find our location at Malkapur. We are based at the Visaka Cement site in B-3, working under the India Cement name. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where the real work happens. The landscape is dominated by the industrial plants and the dusty roads that come with the cement business. M R Singh and the rest of us here spend our days dealing with the logistics of moving heavy materials. It’s hot, dry work, and you definitely won't find anyone here wearing a tie. We wear sturdy boots and practical clothes because the environment demands it. The office is a simple room with some old desks and a couple of whirring fans that try their best to move the air around. We don't have a big corporate headquarters vibe at all. It’s more about checking schedules, talking to drivers, and making sure the machinery is running like it should. We eat our lunch together and talk about local news or whatever is happening in the plant. It’s a tough job in a tough environment, but it’s what we know. We don't need any fancy mission statements to tell us what to do; the work is right there in front of us. Most of the people working here have been around for generations, so there is a lot of history in these walls.
