We are located down in Geonkhali, which is a quiet little spot in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. Even though our name mentions Hospet and Karnataka, our actual day-to-day happens right here in this village setting. Life moves a bit slower near the river than it does in the big cities. We spend most of our mornings just getting things ready for whoever might stop by the village. The air is different here, and you can always hear the local birds or the sound of a passing cycle-rickshaw. It is a simple setup we have, nothing too fancy or modern. Our building is easy to find if you know the area, but visitors sometimes get a little turned around on the local village roads. We have lived in this part of Bengal for a long time, so we know the seasons and the people well. When the heavy rains come, everything stops for a bit and we just wait it out.
