Our place is located at 5/23/8 Hazarhath Kalitala Lane in Shibpur. If you know Howrah, you know the lanes can be a bit tight and hard to find if you aren't from around here. We deal with seeds—that’s what the name means. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of what we have and making sure the storage stays dry. It’s a bit of a struggle in the rainy season because of the dampness, but we’ve figured out how to manage it over the years. The office is small and tucked away in the lane. We’ve got bags of seeds and samples all over the place. It’s not the most organized looking spot, but we know where everything is. We aren't some big international firm, just a local outfit that knows a thing or two about what grows well in West Bengal. People come by the lane to pick up orders or just to chat about the latest harvest. We drink a lot of chai and talk about how the prices are changing. It’s a family-style environment, really. We’ve been in Shibpur for a long time and the neighbors know us well. It’s just us doing our thing with the seeds every day, trying to keep the quality decent and the customers happy with what they get. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
