Panchlaagro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out here in Howrah. You can find us at Achintya Kr. Naskar’s place. We are a local group and most of us have lived in Howrah our whole lives. Farming in this part of West Bengal is what we do. We decided to put this company together so we could have a bit more structure for our farming activities. It is not a big corporate setup with glass windows and desks. It is more of a practical place where we get together to figure out the season's plans. Whether it is looking at the crops or figuring out the transport, we do it all ourselves. We don't really go for big speeches or polished presentations. We just want to get the crops grown and the work finished. Being in Howrah gives us a good connection to the local markets, which is helpful. Sometimes the weather doesn't go our way, and sometimes the prices are tough, but we keep at it. Our office is a simple spot where the paperwork gets filed and the decisions get made by the members. It is a very hands-on kind of business. We are just regular people who know a lot about agriculture and wanted to work together under one name. It feels more solid that way for everyone in the group. We are just trying to keep the farming tradition going in our own way.
