Knowhow

You can find Knowhow over at 12, Kashi Nath Chatterjee Lane in the Shibpur area. We are quite close to the Mandirtala Bus Stand, which makes it easy for people to find the general area, though the lane itself is a bit quieter than the main road. The building is a typical Shibpur structure, nothing too modern. We are on one of the lower floors. When you walk in, you’ll see some chairs and a big table that we use for almost everything. There is a small window that looks out onto the lane, and sometimes you can see the local cats sitting on the wall outside. We keep things pretty straightforward. There are no big signs or bright lights inside. We have some shelves filled with various folders and books that have been gathered over time. The air feels a bit still in the afternoons, so we usually have the fans going full blast. The Mandirtala Bus Stand is just a short walk away, so we often hear the distant sound of buses pulling in and out. It’s a steady kind of place. We spend a lot of time just sitting and working through whatever needs to be done that day. It isn't a fancy office, just a room where things happen. We like the fact that it feels lived-in and real. People from the neighborhood drop by occasionally just to say hello or ask a quick question.
