Over at 141/8 Carry Road in the Chatterjeehat area of Howrah, we have our setup. It’s an older part of West Bengal, and the building feels like it has a lot of history to it. At Ibm Global Services, we are mostly focused on technical work and support tasks. The office is full of old desks and plenty of computer screens. It is not like those modern tech offices you see on TV with beanbags and colorful walls. We have regular chairs and a lot of tangled cables under the desks. The road outside is usually quite busy with local traffic, and the sounds of the neighborhood drift in through the windows. We drink a lot of coffee while we look at code or talk to folks on the phone. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the commute to Carry Road a bit of a challenge, but we still show up and get the work done. We’ve got a small crew here, and we all know each other’s habits. We don't spend much time on fancy meetings. We just sit down, open our laptops, and try to solve the problems that come our way. It’s a quiet kind of productive environment. The light in the office is a bit dim, but it works for staring at screens all day. We just keep our heads down and handle the technical side of things. It is just a normal day at the office for us here in Howrah.
