That is where we do most of our work. Being an OPC, it is a small operation, mostly just a couple of us sitting with our laptops trying to figure out IT problems. The village of Shibpur is quiet, which helps when you need to concentrate on coding or fixing a server issue. It gets quite humid here in West Bengal, especially during the monsoon months, but we have our fans running and we stay at it. We didn't want to move to a big office park in the city because this feels more like home. People around here sometimes drop by just to ask a quick question about their computers. We don't have any fancy reception area or a coffee machine that makes lattes. Usually, we just make some tea in the kitchen and get back to the screens. It is honest work. Some days are long, especially when a project gets complicated, but we don't mind the hours much. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the work we hand over is solid and doesn't break the next day. Being based in 711314 means we are part of the local community. It is a practical way to run a business.
