Arsar Agro Business (Opc) Private is run by me, Ajit Kumar Sardar, out of my home base in Village-Haral. To get here, you have to go through Champahati and head towards Baruipur in South 24 Parganas. It’s a quiet place compared to the city, and that’s where the actual work happens. Being a one-person company means I wear a lot of hats. One day I’m out in the fields checking on the crops, and the next I’m sitting at my desk handling the registrations and the money side of things. It’s a personal way of doing business. People know me by name here, and I know them. We don’t have a big staff or a fancy building with a sign. It’s just a practical operation focused on the local agricultural needs of our village and the surrounding areas. The post office is in Champahati, which is a bit of a trip, but we manage. Living in West Bengal, you see how important the land is, and I wanted to be a part of that in a real way. It’s not always easy being on your own, but it allows me to make decisions quickly without a lot of meetings. I just focus on the daily tasks and try to make sure the business stays steady for the long run. There is always something to do on the farm or in the office.
