R D Public School is found in the Kalapatha area of Betul. We have been here for some time now, serving the local families in this part of town. The school is a simple building that fits right into the neighborhood. In Betul, life moves at a bit of a slower pace, and the school reflects that. We have classrooms for the different grades, and they are filled with the usual desks and benches. The morning assembly is held in the open space out front where the kids stand in lines. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or fancy labs, just the basic tools needed for teaching the kids their lessons. The teachers live nearby and they know the community well. Sometimes the rainy season makes the roads a bit muddy, but the kids still make it to class. We focus on the textbooks and making sure everyone can read and write properly. The office is just a small room with a few files and a desk where the principal sits. It’s a very grounded place. We don’t spend money on big advertisements; people just know us from word of mouth. During the breaks, the sound of children playing fills the air in Kalapatha. It’s a basic, honest school where we try to do a decent job with the resources we have. When the final bell rings, everyone heads home through the local streets until the next morning.
