Rupam Aluminium

Rupam Aluminium is situated in Nimtala which falls under the Magra area in Hooghly district. It is a fairly quiet spot compared to the big cities. We have a workshop where we handle all the aluminium work. There are stacks of frames and sheets leaning against the walls most of the time. The sound of cutting metal is something you hear a lot when you are near our place. We have a few benches where we do the assembly and some basic tools that we have used for years. It is a dusty job and there are always little bits of metal shavings on the floor. We try to sweep up at the end of the day but it is hard to get it all. Most of us who work here are from the local Magra area so we do not have far to travel. We usually sit outside on the bench when it is time for a break. The weather in Hooghly can be quite damp so we have to make sure the materials are kept dry. We do not have a fancy website or any marketing people. People just find us by word of mouth or by seeing the sign when they pass through Nimtala. It is a basic way of doing business but it has worked for us so far. We just take the orders as they come and try to finish them before the weekend starts. It is honest work and we stay busy enough.
