A G Memorial Academy

Down in Konnagar, on S C Chatterjee Street, you will find our place at 63/A. It’s a typical street in Hooghly, narrow and usually full of life with people walking to the local market or heading to work. The building isn't brand new, but it has a lot of character. We start our mornings with the sound of the bell, which everyone can hear clearly across the neighborhood. Inside, the hallways are narrow, and you can often hear the sound of chalk on boards or teachers talking. We have a small area where students gather, and it gets quite loud during lunch when everyone is opening their tiffin boxes. The smell of home-cooked food fills the air then. Some of our windows look out onto the street, and we can see the rickshaws passing by. It can get pretty humid in the summer months, and the ceiling fans hum all day long. Our office is a bit cramped with files and registers piled up on the desks, but we know where everything is. It’s a busy environment, and there is always something that needs fixing or a parent coming in to ask a question. We’ve been part of this community for a while now, and most people around here know where we are. It’s just a regular part of life on S C Chatterjee Street, where we focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the day runs smoothly.
