Warden In Icfai Institute

I work as a warden at the Icfai Institute and this is my home address too. I am the daughter of M.N. Rajappa. We live in Metikere village in the Hirisave area. This is part of Channarayapatna in the Hassan district. The pin code here is 573124. My life is mostly about the institute and the students who live there. Being a warden means you are always on duty. There is always something to fix or someone who needs help with something in the hostel. Our village is a small place and life moves slowly here. We have some land where we grow a few things, but most of my time is spent at the institute. I have a small office with a simple wooden desk and some big registers where I record everything. I prefer writing things down by hand rather than using a computer for everything. People in the village and the district know my family, so they often stop by to talk. The weather in Hassan can be quite dry, and it gets dusty when the wind picks up. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important work. I make sure the rules are followed and that the students are safe. I’ve lived around here all my life and I don’t think I’d want to be anywhere else. It’s a quiet, practical existence in a beautiful part of Karnataka.
