P.H. Deshpande Public School

P.H. Deshpande Public School is out in Nuggehalli, which is a small place in the Hassan district. We are located right off the SH47 road. It is a bit of a drive to get here from the main town, but it is a nice, quiet spot surrounded by some trees and open fields. The school building is fairly basic, just a few blocks of rooms with a central courtyard in the middle. In Nuggehalli, everyone knows who we are because there are not many big buildings around this area. The morning starts with a lot of dust as the kids arrive on foot or by bicycle from the nearby villages. We do not have a big cafeteria or a gym for the students. We just have the classrooms and a small area where the kids play during the recess. The teachers often sit outside in the sun during the winter months because it gets a bit chilly inside the stone walls. Our days are spent going through the textbooks and making sure the students are actually doing their homework. There is no high-tech lab or fancy computer room here, just the basics that you need to run a school in the 573131 area. It is a slow-paced life here compared to the big cities. We just focus on the daily lessons and keeping the place clean. By the afternoon, the SH47 road gets a bit busier with local traffic, and the school empties out as everyone heads back home.
