Sai Ram Play School

We’ve been running Sai Ram Play School here in Kankhal for a good while now. It’s tucked away in Gurubaksh Vihar, which is a pretty quiet part of Haridwar compared to the main temple areas. Most mornings start with the sounds of parents dropping off their little ones and the usual chatter that comes with three and four-year-olds. The building itself is simple, nothing fancy, but it does the job for the kids to have some space to run and sit. We spend a lot of time just keeping things organized. Haridwar - 249401 is home for us, and the people around here are mostly families who have lived in Kankhal for years. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded on the street when school ends, but that’s just how it goes in this neighborhood. We don’t have a massive playground, but there’s enough room inside for the activities we do. The staff lives nearby, so they don’t have to travel far to get here. It’s a local place through and through. You see the same faces every day, from the shopkeepers down the road to the vegetable sellers who pass by. We just try to keep the environment decent for the kids who come to us from the surrounding blocks. It’s mostly about making sure everyone is safe and has something to do until their parents come back at lunchtime. It's just a regular part of life here in Gurubaksh Vihar.
