Vikash General Store

Our store is located in the Old Anaz Mandi area in Taura, right off the Bhiwadi Road. It’s an old part of town, so the buildings are close together and the streets are always full of people buying things. Vikash General Store is where we keep all the daily essentials. We have big bags of rice, flour, and different kinds of lentils. Then there are the smaller things like soap, oil, and spices. It’s a lot to keep track of. I usually start the day by checking what we are running low on and making a list for the suppliers. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so I have to use a wooden stool to reach the top items. It gets pretty hot inside during the afternoon, but we keep the doors open to let some air in. People from the neighborhood come in all day long. Some just want a single packet of biscuits or a bottle of cold soda. We know most of the families around here. We’ve seen their kids grow up over the years. It isn't a supermarket where everything is fancy. It’s just a local shop where you can get what you need for your kitchen. Sometimes people stay for a minute to talk about the market prices or the news. It’s a busy life, but it’s good to be right here on Bhiwadi Road near the mandi where all the action is.
