Bunty General Store

If you live around Rajendra Park, you’ve probably seen Bunty General Store. We are at 81 - B. It’s a basic neighborhood shop where we keep the essentials. Milk, bread, soap, and snacks for the kids after school. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself and be close to home. The shelves are usually pretty full, though sometimes we run out of things if the delivery truck is late. It’s a small space, so you have to squeeze past the crates sometimes. I know most of the people who come in by their first names. We talk about the weather or the local news while I bag their groceries. Being at 81 - B in Rajendra Park means we see the same faces every day. It isn’t a supermarket with bright neon lights and music. It’s just a regular store with a ceiling fan and a counter. I spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and making sure everything is fresh. The hours are long, but I like being my own boss. Sometimes my son helps me out on the weekends. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here when they need a bag of flour or some matches. It’s a quiet life and the work is steady. We try to keep the prices where they should be for the neighborhood.
