If you live around Palam Vihar, you might have walked past our place at S 155. It’s just called Super Store, nothing too fancy. We started it because there weren't many places nearby to get the basics without driving a long way. Every morning, the bread guy comes by and we start stacking the shelves before the neighbors wake up. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about where we put things. Sometimes the boxes pile up near the door and we have to move them quickly so people can get inside. We have a bit of everything, from soap to snacks and some cold drinks in the back fridge. It gets pretty crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and realizes they forgot to buy milk or eggs. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. They usually stop for a minute to talk about the weather or the traffic on the main road. The lights in the store flicker a bit sometimes, but we haven't had time to call the electrician yet. My cousin helps out behind the counter most days so I can go fetch more stock from the bigger market. It’s not a quiet job, but it’s nice to see the same faces every day. We don’t have any big signs or anything, just the name on the front of the shop.
