Kanika Garments

We have been running this small shop in Sector-7 for a good while now. Most people know us because we are right near Shiv Rasoi, which is always busy around lunchtime. If you get hungry while looking at clothes, you just walk a few steps and get a meal. Our place isn't anything fancy. We have racks of shirts and some stacks of trousers that we try to keep neat, but they always end up a bit messy by the end of the day. My cousin helps me out on the weekends when it gets crowded. We don't have those big bright lights you see in malls. It’s just a regular local shop with a fan that makes a bit of noise. Sometimes the heat gets to be a lot in the afternoons, so we just sit outside on the stools for a bit. We get a lot of regulars from the apartments nearby. They come in to see what new stock has arrived. We don't really do big advertising or anything. If someone needs a simple outfit for a function or just something to wear to work, they come here. The shelves are made of wood and they've been here since my father's time. We have some clothes for kids too, tucked away in the back corner. It’s a bit cramped but we manage. Yesterday we had a bit of a leak from the overhead tank, so we spent the morning moving boxes. It's always something. We just keep going.
