Our place is right near Rd City at A-76 in the Okhla Industrial Area. It’s a bit of a trek to get here sometimes, especially when the morning traffic builds up near the main gates. We spend our days surrounded by fabric rolls and sewing machines. The noise of the needles hitting the cloth is just background music to us now. Most of the people working here live nearby, so there's a lot of local talk during lunch breaks. We deal with all sorts of garments. Some days are just about cutting patterns, while others are spent checking the stitching on a big batch of orders. It gets pretty cramped when a lot of material arrives at once. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly just worktables and racks of clothes waiting to be moved out. Sometimes the air conditioning acts up, so we open the big doors to let a breeze in, even if it brings in some dust. We try to keep things moving. If a machine breaks down, one of the guys usually knows how to give it a kick and get it going again. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. Nothing more to it than that. If you drop by, you’ll likely find us sorting through buttons or thread. It keeps us busy from morning until evening.
