Mithila Paintingwala

We are over in Sector No. 22, and this is where Mithila Paintingwala is based. It is more of a workshop than a formal office. There are usually brushes, paints, and canvases spread out all over the place. We focus on the traditional art that we grew up with. It is not a high-tech operation at all. We spend our time sitting and working on different pieces, sometimes for hours on end. The lighting in our space is important, so we try to make the most of the windows we have. People who live in the sector sometimes stop by to see what we are working on. We aren't a big factory churning out thousands of things. Everything is done by hand, and because of that, things take time. Sometimes we run out of a certain color and have to wait to get more supplies from our regular source. It’s a bit disorganized at times, but that is just how it goes when you are working with art. We don't have a fancy website or a big sales team. It is just us and our tools. We enjoy the process of creating something from scratch. It is a slow way of working compared to most businesses today, but it feels right to us. We’ve been in this sector for a while and like the quiet atmosphere here. We usually have some tea and listen to the radio while we paint.
