Rahul General Store

You can find us at Shop No. 1 in the Cantt. Market area of Sadar Bazar. It's a small shop, but we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. It’s usually pretty crowded inside because we have so many boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We sell the usual things people need for their houses every day. From soap to snacks, it's all tucked in there somewhere. The market is always loud and there’s always someone walking by the front door. We open up early in the morning before most people are awake. Sometimes I forget where I put a specific item and have to hunt for it while the customer waits. It’s just me and maybe one other person helping out during the busy times. We know most of our regular customers by name. They stop by to chat for a minute while they buy their groceries. Sadar Bazar is a busy place, so there’s never a dull moment. The shelves are a bit dusty sometimes, and the fan makes a clicking noise, but it works fine. We don’t have any fancy displays or neon signs. We just put the new stock out wherever it fits on the shelf. It's a basic neighborhood store. We try to keep the prices fair so people keep coming back. Sometimes children come in for a single piece of candy. It’s a nice way to spend the day, even if my feet hurt by the time we close the shutters.
