Prime Cuts Meat Shop

If you head down to Gurgaon Village, you will find us at C-116. Prime Cuts Meat Shop is where I spend most of my daylight hours. The day usually starts way before the sun is up because the fresh stock arrives early. We have to get everything unloaded and sorted out on the blocks before the first customers show up. It is physical work, lifting crates and using the knives all day. My apron is never clean for long, which is just how it goes in a butcher shop. The floor gets washed down multiple times a day to keep things proper. We have a regular crowd from around the village who come in for their usual orders. It’s nice to know people by name after seeing them for so long. The shop itself is pretty basic, just the counters, the scales, and the cold storage in the back. At C-116, we don't really bother with much decoration or big signs. People know we are here because of the location. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the small space when three or four people are waiting at once. We just try to move as fast as we can without making mistakes. It’s a steady kind of life, working with your hands and making sure the meat is handled right. By the time we close up and lock the door, I am usually pretty tired, but it’s good work.
