Metalman Micro Turners

Our shop is at Plot No. 403/2 over in the Shimla Pistore area, near the Lalpur post office. We are right on the Kapriwas Main Road, so if you pass the Old Rao Hotel, you’re pretty much there. Metalman Micro Turners is a busy little place. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal and the hum of the lathes going. It gets pretty dusty inside with all the shavings, so we spend a fair bit of time sweeping up the floor. We’ve got a small team and we usually start quite early before the sun gets too hot. The main road is always loud with trucks and cars, so we’ve gotten used to shouting a bit to hear each other over the noise. We keep our tools organized as best as we can, though things usually get a bit messy by the middle of the afternoon. There isn't any fancy lobby or waiting room here. It’s just a workspace where we get the turning done. We handle a lot of small parts that need a steady hand. Most of our days are spent checking measurements and making sure the machines are running smooth. We eat our lunch together near the back when things quiet down for a bit. It’s a basic setup but we’ve been here long enough that it feels like home. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day.
