Over at Gs 34 in Malibu Town, things stay pretty consistent from day to day. This part of Gurgaon has a different feel than the high-rise areas with all the glass buildings. It is much more grounded and quiet. Here at Koutons Retail India Ltd, we focus on the practical side of the retail trade. We have a lot of samples coming in and out every week, which keeps us on our toes. The office isn’t anything special to look at, just four walls and a lot of shelving for the stock. We keep the kettle going for tea throughout the day because it gets quite cold in the winter months here. There are several of us working together, mostly just sitting around the main table sorting through tags and labels. It is quiet enough that you can actually hear yourself think, which is rare for a business in this busy city. We don't use big words or have long speeches about what we want to achieve. We just want to make sure the inventory is where it needs to be when the stores ask for it. Sometimes the internet is slow and we all have to wait around, but we usually just use that time to talk about our lives. It is a very human way to work. No one is wearing a suit here. We are just local people doing a job and trying to do it right.
