Jain General Store

Jain General Store is located right at Shop No 6 on New Railway Road. It’s a pretty straightforward place where we stock the usual things people need for their houses. We open up early because the road gets noisy with traffic and people heading to work quite fast. It’s not a huge store but we make use of the space we have. You can find us easily if you are walking down from the main junction. We’ve been at this spot for years and the shelves are always full of different boxes and packets. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is asking for but we usually know where everything is kept. The floor is a bit worn out from all the feet walking in and out all day long. We don't have any flashy signs or big lights outside. It’s just a regular shop front like the others on New Railway Road. Working here means you talk to a lot of neighbors every day. We hear all the local news while people are waiting for their change. It's a busy street and there is always some car honking or a bike zooming past the door. We just focus on getting things off the shelves for whoever walks in. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from morning until we lock up the shutters at night. We always check the inventory before we leave so we know what to order next for the morning.
