Holy Cross Matriculation School

The school is situated right by the Bus Stand on New Railway Road in Gurgaon. It’s probably one of the busiest spots you could pick in the 122001 area. There is a constant noise of buses pulling in and out, horns honking, and people shouting for passengers. Because of the shop nearby and the general bustle of the railway road, it never really gets quiet here. The building itself is multi-story and tucked into a line of other commercial structures. We don't have a big front lawn or a gate with a long driveway. Instead, you step right off the sidewalk and you're almost at the entrance. Inside, we try to keep the noise out as much as possible, but you can still feel the vibration of the city. The classrooms are filled with rows of desks and the walls are covered with student work and some old calendars. We spend a lot of time cleaning because the dust from the road settles on everything very quickly. The stairs are narrow and people have to go single file sometimes. It’s a very functional place. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or fancy lounges. It’s just a building where people come to learn and then head back out into the chaos of Gurgaon in the afternoon. Most of us are used to the rhythm of the bus schedules and the train whistles by now.
