Govt School

This place, Govt School, is right at 1277 in Gurgaon. We open the gates early every morning before the sun gets too hot. Usually, there's a bit of a rush at the entrance. The pin code is 122001, so it’s pretty central. I’ve been here a while now. The building is what it is. It’s got classrooms and some benches that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time just keeping things moving. The kids come from around the neighborhood. Some walk, some get dropped off. We have a small staff. Everyone knows everyone else's business after a few weeks. It gets noisy during the breaks, especially in the hallways. We don’t have fancy stuff here. Just the basics. Chalkboards, some charts on the walls, and the sound of fans humming. In the summer, those fans are the most important thing we have. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows and keep going. It’s a government school, so we follow the rules sent down to us. We handle the paperwork and the registers every day. It’s a lot of writing by hand. People come by 1277 looking for the office, and we just point them down the hall. It’s not a complicated setup. We’re just here doing the work. The Gurgaon dust gets everywhere, but we sweep it out every morning and start again. That’s just how it goes here.
