Avinash General Store

Avinash General Store is located right in Kanahi Village, near the Gold Souk area. It is a small place but we carry most of the things a family needs on a daily basis. We have been serving this part of the village for years, watching the buildings grow around us. The shop is packed with everything from laundry soap to bags of rice. We do not have fancy displays, just metal shelves and some crates on the floor. Most of our customers are people who have lived here as long as we have. They stop in for a quick chat and to pick up whatever they forgot to buy earlier. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan running constantly. The street outside is usually busy with people heading toward the mall or going home from work. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a product is not good, we tell people. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble finding the village entrance, so we have to go out and guide them in. It is just a routine of opening early and closing late. We do not have a website or anything like that, just this physical shop where you can see what you are getting. It is a quiet existence but it keeps us connected to the community here. We enjoy seeing the same faces every morning when the bread arrives fresh and we start the day.
