Anushka Garments

We are located right near Hdfc Bank, so we see a lot of people coming and going all day. The shop is usually full of clothes on hangers and folded piles on the counters. We try to keep things neat, but by the afternoon, everything is usually a bit of a mess from people looking through the racks. It’s just me and a couple of others working here. We don't have a fancy system for anything. We just write down what we sell in a big ledger book. Sometimes the bank queue spills out onto the sidewalk near our door. It’s a good spot because people notice us while they wait. We get a lot of local women coming in to see what’s new. I spend a lot of time fixing the displays or re-hanging stuff that fell off. The lighting is okay, but one of the bulbs always seems to be flickering. We haven't gotten around to calling the electrician yet. We talk to the customers about their kids or the weather while they look around. It’s not a high-pressure place. If someone wants to buy, they buy. If not, they just chat for a while. The floor is tile and it gets cold in the winter. We keep a small heater behind the counter to stay warm. It’s just a basic clothing store doing its thing near the bank. We usually lock up around eight and head home to our families.
