The All India Association Of Builders And Contractor is set up in House No. 603 over in Sector 31. It’s a residential area in Gurgaon, so it feels more like a home than a stiff office. This association is basically a place where builders and contractors can connect with each other. We spend a lot of time talking about the industry and the problems people are facing on the ground. Sometimes it gets quite loud during meetings when everyone has an opinion on how things should be handled. It isn't a massive organization with hundreds of staff. It’s a few of us trying to keep everyone informed and organized. We deal with a lot of paperwork and phone calls from different parts of Haryana. Since we are based in Sector 31, it is central enough for people to drop by easily. The house is usually full of files and old records from previous years. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the needs of the contractors who come to us for help or advice. It’s a lot of coordination work, making sure people are talking to each other. Some days are slow, and other days the phone won't stop ringing. It’s just how it goes in this line of work. We try to be helpful and stay grounded in what’s actually happening on construction sites every day. We just want to keep things moving for everyone in the industry.
