Watch Maker

This little shop known as Watch Maker is tucked away at 8-A Ch Nathu Singh Market in Masood Pur. It is not a very big place but it is filled with all sorts of tools and tiny parts that most people probably would not even recognize. I spend most of my days sitting behind a small workbench with a magnifying glass held up to my eye. The market outside is usually quite noisy with people shouting and scooters zooming past, but inside here it is mostly just the sound of tiny gears clicking and the occasional chime of a clock on the wall. We have been here for a good while now and people from around the neighborhood know to drop by when their wristwatches stop ticking or if they need a new battery put in. It is a messy desk usually, covered in springs and little glass faces, but I know where everything is. Some days are slow and I just sit there cleaning out old movements with a tiny brush, and other days there is a whole pile of repairs waiting. I do not have a fancy sign or any bright lights, just the basic shop front that does the job. People come in, we talk for a bit about the weather or the traffic in Masood Pur, and they leave their watches with me. It is just a simple way to spend the day, working with my hands and keeping things running.
