Rajpal Watch House sits right on the Main Road at Sohna Chowk. It is a loud place because of all the traffic meeting at the intersection. You have cars, rickshaws, and bikes constantly honking, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Being at the chowk means we see everyone. People from all over the city pass by this corner. Our shop is not very large, but we pack a lot of clocks and watches into the space we have. The walls are covered in wall clocks of different sizes. Sometimes they all chime at slightly different times, which creates a bit of a mess of noise every hour. We don’t mind it. Mostly we are busy with repairs. People drop their watches on the pavement or get them wet in the rain, and then they bring them to us. We do our best to fix them with the tools we have. It is honest work and it fills the day. We don't have a big sign or bright lights, just the same one we have had for a while. If you are standing at Sohna Chowk, you can't really miss us. We don't do much talking unless someone asks a question about a watch brand. We just sit at the workbench and focus on the tiny screws. It’s a good way to spend a day, even with the chaos of the main road right outside the door. We stay open late because the chowk is always busy and there is always someone needing something fixed before they go home.
