Shri Shyam Communication

If you walk through Sector 46 and head toward Jharsa village, you’ll find us. We are tucked into a spot that sees a mix of both worlds. Shri Shyam Communication has been our daily life for several years now. The morning starts with opening the shutters, which always stick a little bit in the monsoon season. We get a lot of people from the village side and also workers from the nearby offices. It is a strange mix, but it works. The shop is filled with the smell of old electronics and sometimes the lunch someone brought from home. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know how to handle the repairs and the sales. Our shelves are mostly full of cases and screen protectors because that is what people ask for the most. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, but inside we just focus on the work. I remember when this whole area was mostly empty fields, and now look at it. We’ve had to adapt as phones got more complicated, but the basics of talking to customers stay the same. You listen to their problem, tell them how long it will take, and hope the parts arrive on time. It is not always perfect, and sometimes we run out of change, but we make do. It feels good to be a part of this little corner of the city. We keep the light on late most nights.
