We’ve been here at shop number eighty-seven in the Huda market for a good while now. It is a busy place, especially in the evenings when everyone gets off work and comes by to pick up groceries or get their phones looked at. I usually get here around ten in the morning, sweep the floor, and set things up. Sakshi Communication is just a small spot, but we stay busy. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but you get used to it. People come in mostly for recharges or when their screen cracks, which happens more than you’d think. There is a tea stall nearby that brings us chai twice a day, and that’s when we usually catch up on the local news. The market has changed a lot since we first opened our doors. Some shops have closed, and new ones have come in, but we are still right here. It is not a fancy place with air conditioning that works all the time, but it stays dry when it rains. We keep the drawers organized with different cables and batteries so we can find things quickly. Most of the people who come in are neighbors we’ve known for years. They stop by just to say hello even if they don’t need anything fixed. It makes the day go by faster when you have people to talk to. We just try to do the work right and keep things moving. It isn't always easy, but we manage.
