Our place is at No. 366 in Phase-II of Udyog Vihar. This part of the city is always buzzing with energy because there are so many factories and offices nearby. We focus on knitting fabrics here. The machines run for most of the day and they make a very steady rhythm that you eventually stop noticing. The building is a standard industrial unit with a lot of space for the knitting frames. We have a small office upstairs where we handle the orders and talk to suppliers. The stairs are a bit steep and creaky. We've been in this spot for several years and have seen the neighborhood change as more companies move in. Parking is always a bit of a problem on this street, so we have to tell people to come early or use the side lanes. We aren't a big corporate outfit, just a group of people who know how to work the machines and get the fabric out on time. Sometimes we have issues with the yarn quality and have to spend hours sorting it out, which is frustrating but it’s just how it goes. We don't have any mission statements or fancy mottos on the walls. We just come in, do the knitting, and make sure the rolls are packed properly for delivery. It is a noisy place but it feels like home to most of us now.
