In Bhim Nagar, Gurgaon, you’ll find us at Hno 651 and 652. Using a house as an office gives the whole place a different feel than a glass tower. It’s more personal. You have to take your shoes off sometimes if the floor was just cleaned, and there’s a small courtyard where some of us go to get a bit of fresh air. The Mckinsey Knowledge Center here is a busy little hub. We use both floors of the building, and people are constantly moving up and down the stairs with papers in their hands. It’s not the most modern setup, but it has a lot of heart. The neighborhood is residential, so you hear children playing or the vegetable seller calling out his prices in the street. It keeps us connected to the real world outside of our computer screens. We don't have a big sign out front, just the house numbers. The rooms are a bit small, so we’re all quite close to each other. It means we talk a lot and help each other out when someone gets stuck on a task. We handle our own chores mostly, like making sure the water filter is filled. It’s a simple, hardworking atmosphere where nobody puts on airs. We just come in, do our bit, and enjoy the relative quiet of Bhim Nagar.
