Our address is H 23 11 in DLF Phase I, Gurgaon. It's a busy corner of the city, but our street is surprisingly shaded with some old trees. We’ve set up Mckinsey Company in this part of the neighborhood. The office is basically a few rooms with mismatched furniture we’ve collected over time. One desk is metal, another is heavy wood. It doesn't look like a magazine shoot, but it’s comfortable for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away. The windows are large, which is nice for the light, even if they get a bit dusty from the construction nearby. There is always construction in Gurgaon. We have a small kitchenette where we make our own lunches sometimes. It saves money and we can eat whenever we want. We aren't big on meetings; we usually just talk across the room if we need something. It’s a very informal way to work, which helps keep the stress down. Sometimes the courier gets lost because the numbering in Phase 1 can be confusing, so we have to go out to the main road to meet them. It’s just one of those things you deal with. We focus on getting the records right and making sure the files are sent out on time. It’s a simple operation, run by people who just want to get the day's work done. We enjoy the local vibe.
