Mafoi

Up on the 1st floor at 16 Begumpur in Malviya Nagar, you’ll find our Mafoi office. Delhi can be pretty overwhelming, but this corner of Malviya Nagar feels a bit more like a neighborhood. We have a small balcony where we keep some dead plants we keep forgetting to water. The office itself is just two rooms. One for the desks and one for all the storage. We have a lot of paper. It seems like no matter how much we go digital, there’s always more paper. The floor is made of that old tile that stays cold in the winter. We use heaters when it gets chilly. We don’t have a big corporate logo on the wall or anything like that. Just a calendar and some notes tacked up with tape. People call us throughout the day and we try to help them out with what they need. We aren't fancy people. We wear sweaters in the office and drink tea from mugs that don't match. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a simple way to work. We don’t make big promises. We just do the work that’s in front of us and try to be fair about everything we do. Most days are pretty quiet once you get inside and shut the main door.
