Hungry is based at house number 4295 in Sector 23A of Gurgaon. It’s a residential area, so we are surrounded by houses and families. Running a food business out of a house means things are always a bit busy and sometimes a little loud. The kitchen is the heart of the place, and it’s almost always running. We have crates of vegetables arriving at the door and delivery riders waiting on their bikes outside the gate. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a dining room or anything like that; it’s all about getting the food out to the people who order. We spend our mornings prepping everything—chopping onions, sorting spices, and making sure the stoves are ready. The house smells like spices and cooking oil from morning until late at night. Sometimes the neighbors come by to chat or ask what’s on the menu for the day. It’s a tight-knit kind of place. We have a small team, and we all know where everything is kept in the pantry. It’s not a fancy setup with stainless steel everything, just a regular kitchen that’s been modified to handle more work. We keep the orders organized on a clipboard by the door. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but we’ve gotten used to the pace. We just focus on getting the cooking done and making sure the bags are packed right before they go out.
