Our place of business for Hewitt Associates India Pvt Ltd is at 318 1 16 in Shivaji Nagar. This is part of Gurgaon, Haryana, but it’s the older, more local side of town rather than the new high-rise area with all the malls. The office is located in a building that’s been around for quite some time. It’s a basic setup where we handle all our administrative and associate work. There isn't much in the way of decoration; we mostly have bookshelves and desks everywhere. The street outside can be quite narrow and gets congested with bikes and cars during the day. We’ve gotten to know the people running the small shops nearby. It’s a grounded place to work without any corporate pretense. We don't have a big conference room, so we usually just gather around one of the larger desks when we need to talk things over. The windows look out over the local houses. It feels more like a home-based operation than a big company, which suits us fine. We focus on getting through our daily list of things to do. Sometimes the dust from the street gets in, so we’re always cleaning the desks. It’s just a regular, no-nonsense office where we put in our hours and do our best with what we have. Most of our files are kept in old steel cabinets.
