Our spot is at House No 420 in Sector 17 A, Gurgaon. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s mostly residential and a bit more relaxed than the big glass buildings near the highway. We operate as the Govt Of India from this house, which makes the whole thing feel a lot more personal than a typical government office. It’s a bit of an older building, but it has plenty of room for all our files and the few of us who work here. Gurgaon is famous for its traffic, so we usually hear the horns and the general bustle from the street outside throughout the day. We don't have any shiny logos on the wall or a big reception desk. Usually, someone just hears the bell and goes to see who it is. We spend a lot of time organizing things and making sure our records are in order. It’s a very practical kind of place. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea, which is pretty much the fuel for the whole operation. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but that’s just life in this area and we have a backup to keep the computers running. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't; we just provide a place for this specific work to get done. It’s a straightforward environment without any frills or unnecessary decorations. It suits us just fine for the daily grind.
