Down on Joshi Road in Karol Bagh, you’ll find our Genpact office at number 15 477. If you know New Delhi5, you know Karol Bagh is a whirlwind of activity. There’s always someone moving something or a rickshaw passing by outside. Our space here is tucked away in a busy block. It’s not a shiny new building; it’s more of a lived-in space that’s seen a lot of use. We have our desks crammed in where they fit, and the walls are mostly covered with calendars and notes. The air conditioning works okay, but on the hottest days, we definitely feel the heat. We spend our hours processing information and keeping track of various business accounts. It’s hard work and it isn't always glamorous. We don't have a corporate cafeteria, so we usually just order from the stalls nearby or bring food from home. The floor is a bit uneven in spots, and the lighting is just basic bulbs. It serves our purpose though. We aren't here to look pretty; we’re here to get the work finished so we can go home to our families. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment. Most of the people working here have lived in this part of town for years, so it really feels like a neighborhood business even though we’re part of a larger name. We just put our heads down and work through the files until it's time to lock up.
