Our office is in Bangalore, specifically at Flat No 507 in the Vars Tradition Building on the Old Madras Road. If you know this road, you know how the traffic can be during peak hours, so most of us try to get in early to beat the rush. It’s a bit of a climb up to the fifth floor, but the view of the trees and the city from the balcony is quite decent. Ernst Young has been in this building for a while now. It doesn't feel like a cold corporate office; it’s more like a space where people actually live and work together. We have a small kitchen area where we make our own tea and sometimes share snacks that people bring from home. The work is mostly focused on the computers, so it’s a lot of screen time for everyone. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed because the work itself can be quite demanding with all the numbers and deadlines. Bangalore weather is usually on our side, so we don’t always need the fans on full blast. We have a few plants around the office to make it look a bit more lively. People here are friendly and we often help each other out when someone gets stuck on a tricky task. It’s not about being the best; it’s just about doing a good job and being reliable for the people who count on us. When we leave, the streetlights are already on.
