Dawatwal & Sons has been sitting on Khandsa Road for a long time. We are right near the D A V High School, specifically at number 28. It’s a family thing, passed down a bit, so you’ll usually see a couple of us behind the counter or moving sacks of stuff in the back. Being near the school means it gets real noisy when the bells ring and all the kids come out. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the street. It’s a busy road with a lot of dust and trucks going by. Our shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but we have what people in the neighborhood usually need. We spend most of our day talking to the regulars who have been coming here since they were young. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the delivery truck to fight through the traffic. It’s just how things work on Khandsa Road. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them when it gets dark. Sometimes we stay a little late if someone needs something. It's a simple life running a shop like this. We know the neighbors and they know us. That’s really all there is to it. No big corporate plans, just the daily routine at number 28. It is just us and the shop.
